OZARK…Mr. Wayne H. Mobley, Sr., a resident of Ozark, died early Tuesday afternoon, April 9, 2024, at his home. He was 66.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 17, 2024, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jeremy Meetze officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Wayne Howard Mobley, Sr. was born October 22,1957, Greenville, South Carolina. He spent the earlier portion of his life as an Army child in the Commonwealth of Virginia, France, Germany, Georgia, and Alabama. After final assignment of his father’s service in Alabama, this became Wayne’s home state. He married in 1975 and an enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served in the military for 4 years as a Generator Mechanic with assignments in Fort Lee, Virginia and Fort Benning, Georgia. His highest rank earned during his enlistment was Specialist Four. He was honorable discharged in 1979.
He continued life after the military as an HVAC Technician in South Carolina, and as an Electrician in North Carolina and Texas. Wayne was also a Marine Electrician with the Department of Defense in Virginia and Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Earline (Mixon) Mobley, daughter Angelique and grandson, Darien.
His memories will forever be cherished by his children Wayne, Jr. Ozark, Alabama, Adam Skipperville, Alabama, and Crystal (Lawrence) Thorton, Fairfax, Virginia; two sisters, Kathleen Wray, Niceville, Florida and Jessica (Christopher) Hurley, Enterprise, Alabama; three brothers Wade (Elaine) Mobley, Newton, Alabama, Ricky (Deborah) Mobley, Niceville, Florida, and Kenneth (Antoinette) Mobley, Skipperville, Alabama; five grandchildren, Lauren Isabel, Joseph, Ashley and Devon.
