Wayne W. Hall, Dothan Fire Department Captain – Retired, peacefully entered into his Heavenly Home on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Flowers Hospital, following an extended illness.


 


Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, November 15, 2017 in the Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage Funeral Home with Reverend Tim Willis officiating with the Dothan Fire Department Honor Guard serving. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to Ridgecrest Baptist Church Music and Outreach Ministries, 1231 Fortner Street, Dothan, Alabama 36301 or to the Dothan Fireman’s Relief Fund PO Box 10157 Dothan, Alabama 36304.


 


Members of the Dothan Fire Department and Cowarts Volunteer Fire Department will serve as Honorary Pall Bearers.


 


A lifetime resident of Houston County, Wayne was born to Gladys E. Hall and the late Noah Hall in 1943. He attended Cottonwood High School.


 


Captain “Big Daddy” retired from the Dothan Fire Department after 25 years of service, and was a member of Cowarts Volunteer Fire Department for 15 years. He was also a retired farmer, and a salesman for Allied Fence Company.


 


Wayne was also preceded in death by his in-laws, Joseph Edward Kirkland and Kathleen Campbell Kirkland.


 


Survivors include his “Valentine Bride” of 53 years, Pat; son, Bruce; daughter, Lamesa (Chad) Dean; grandchildren, Ryan and Emma Dean; sister, Barbara Tipton; nieces and nephews, Dede, Robin, Greg, and Mike; and special family friends, Deen and Hilton Williams, Pine Level.


 


A “Special Thank You” to those who have compassionately cared for “Big Daddy” in the last few years and enlightened his days; Samantha, Ashley, LeeAnn, and Helen; Dothan Ambulance Company; Dr. Calvin Reid and Staff; Flowers Hospital Nurses, Doctors, and Chaplain Wayne Krist; Flowers Hospital Wound Care; and the Ridgecrest Baptist Church Outreach and Pastoral Care.
