Wesley Dean Williams, Jr., of Dothan, passed away October 19th, 2021, surrounded by his beloved family after a brief illness. He was 67.
Wesley is survived and will be dearly missed by his wife of 48 years Glenda, daughters Amy (Travis) and Kimberly (Donald), son Wesley III (Kristin), grandson Miles, granddaughters Isla and Veda, sister Linda, brother Gary (Robin), sister Beverly (Dennis), numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and grandpups Andy and Lucy.
He was preceded in death by parents Wesley and Betty Williams, Sr. and grandpups Wilson, Remmy, Bear, Izzy, and Hobbes.
Wesley was a devoted husband, loving father, and doting grandfather. He had a fantastic sense of humor and thoroughly enjoyed making others laugh with his jokes and stories. He loved animals, and his gentle, playful spirit made him the favorite of every dog in the neighborhood.
Wesley was a master welder who mentored many during his 48-year career as a member of the Plumbers & Steamfitters Local Union 52 of Montgomery. He retired in April 2016.
Wesley was also an inventor at heart and was known for his many creative talents with metal, wood, and other mediums. A jack-of-all-trades, he enjoyed using his skills to solve problems and help others.
Funeral services will be held at 3pm Saturday, October 23rd, 2021, at Ward-Wilson Funeral Home with Reverand Tharel Shirah officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Ward-Wilson Funeral Home at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Wesley’s memory to the American Liver Foundation or the Wiregrass Humane Society.
