Obituary: Mr. Willard Vance Hendrix


 


Mr. Willard Vance Hendrix of Hartford passed away Saturday, February 12, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was 94. 


Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Tate and Rev. Tom Chestnut officiating.  Interment will follow in Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. 


The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. until service time. 


Mr. Hendrix was born April 3, 1927 in Geneva County to the late Will and Alma Cotton Hendrix.  Willard was a great man of faith and member of Sardis Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher. He was a proud United States Army veteran and retired from the DuPont Company.  Willard enjoyed reading, spending time with his family & friends, and will be dearly missed. 


In addition to his parents, a sister, Jo Faye Battles preceded him in death. 


Survivors include his wife of 71 years Thelma Welch Hendrix; several nieces & nephews; his K-9 companion, Susie; and other extended family and friends.
