Mr. William Albert Monk, 78, of Ozark, died Sunday, March 4, 2018.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 8, 2018, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Dr. Scott Thompson and Reverend Jim Hill officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Full Military Honors, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark from 9:30 A.M. until service time.
Mr. Monk was born July 22, 1939 in Ozark, Alabama to the late Howard Taft Monk and Eva Mae Spurlock Monk. He graduated from Carroll High School in 1957 and served in the Army National Guard for twenty-two years until his retirement. Mr. Monk received the Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award for more than fifty-five years of work as an A & P Mechanic, given to him by the Federal Aviation Administration. He was an active member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Ozark.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Riebling Monk of Ozark; one daughter and son-in-law, Robyn and David Ridgeway of Newnan, Georgia; one step-daughter and son-in-law, Tracey and Willie Dean Davis of Long Beach, Mississippi; one step-son and daughter-in-law, Kirk and Emmie Noble of Wesson, Mississippi; grandchildren, Jackson Ridgeway, Conlan Ridgeway, Mica Noble, Jared Davis, Megan Durr, and Jessica Cuevas; one brother and sister-in-law, Harvey and Sandy Monk of Ozark.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in his memory to Ridgecrest Baptist Church Building Fund, 1971 Deese Road, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
