Obituary: Mr. William “Bill” Alex Dunn


 


Mr. William “Bill” Alex Dunn of Wicksburg passed away Saturday, December 24, 2022 at Hartford Health Care.  He was 77. 


Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Christian Home Church of Christ with Minister Dr. Mark Turner officiating with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.  Interment will follow at the Piney Grove Assembly of God Church Cemetery. 


The family will receive friends at the church at 2:00 p.m. until service time. 


Mr. Dunn was born March 16, 1945 in Houston County to the late Alex and Lovie Dean Dunn. Bill was a loving husband and an adoring father, grandfather, and great grandfather.  He was a mechanic by trade, liked working on tractors, and enjoyed sitting around his shop talking with family and friends. Bill loved his family dearly and would give the “shirt off his back” to help anyone. 


In addition to his parents, his wife of 54 years, Sharon Dunn; his son-in-law, Hilton Fox; and his sister, Mary Ellen Fuqua all preceded him in death. 


Survivors include in daughters: Terri Sellers (Pat), Newton, and Traci Fox, the Jellico Community; sons: Tony Dunn (Patricia), Bessemer, and Travis Dunn, Hartford; grandchildren: Jacob Fox, Adam Fox, JP Wilson, Dustin Chavis, Jada Culbreth, Hunter Sellers, and Taylor Rae Dunn; great grandchildren: Kolten, Brooks, and Brantley; Sisters: Lucille Searcy (Meylan), Renta Mae Diehl (Dan), Margaret Hadden (Bobby), and Louise Senn; brothers: Leroy Dunn (Cathy), and Jesse Dunn (Connie); several nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
