OZARK…. William “Bill” Sexton (CW2, U.S. Army, Retired), a resident of Ozark, died late Saturday afternoon, April 17, 2021 in a Dothan hospital. He was 88.
Celebration of Life Services, with military honors, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 1, 2021 in the Stonebridge Church of God with Reverend Floyd Ingram officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. prior to the services at the church. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Mr. Sexton was born March 6, 1933 in Blountstown, Florida. He joined the United States Army and served in the Korean War and Vietnam War. Mr. Sexton was retired from the United States Army and was a fixed wing and a Huey Helicopter Pilot. He was a member of Stonebridge Church of God. Mr. Sexton was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Sexton and Versie Mae Eldridge Sexton; a daughter, Kathy Rane Sexton; brothers, James Sexton, Cary Sexton, Joe Sexton, Fayne Sexton, and Jimmy Sexton.
Surviving relatives include his wife of sixty-eight years, Vivian Ayers Sexton, Ozark; two daughters, Robin Kelly, Ozark and Barbara Outlaw (Greg), Memphis, TN; a son, Stephen William Sexton (Lisa), Janesville, WI; two sisters, Martha Dale Alday, Marianna, FL and Violet Mayo, Cantonment, FL; a brother, Morgan Sexton (Judy), Havana, FL; three grandchildren, Jamie Outlaw, Kathy Harman, and April Kelly; five great-grandchildren, Skyler Outlaw, Peyton Harman, Micah Harman, Reagan Harman, and Raven Kelly; nieces and nephews.
