Mr. William Edward (Ed) Ludlum, age 62, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2014 at his home surrounded by family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church with Reverend Wes Kelley officiating and Mr. David Johnston providing the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Memory Hill Cemetery with Kendall Glover of Glover Funeral Home Directing.
The family will be receiving friends in the First United Methodist Parlor from 12:30 p.m. until service time on Wednesday. The family requests that in Lieu of Flowers, contributions be made to one’s favorite charity.
Mr. Ludlum was born on June 4, 1951 in Dothan the son of Adris Eugene Ludlum and Elizabeth Bell Ludlum. He was a 1970 Graduate of Dothan High School. Ed was a Real Estate Appraiser with Ludlum & Vann Appraisals for many years. Ed lived a full and adventurous life always surrounded by many friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Jane Ludlum Pender; father-in-law, James Lee Rodgers and a sister-in-law, Georgia Ludlum.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Nancy Rodgers Ludlum; two daughters, Lee Shaw (Paul) and Elizabeth Ludlum; 3 grandchildren, Jack, Sissy and Evelyn; 3 sisters, Carolyn White, Ann Ludlum and Sandra Hanahan; brother, Gene Ludlum; brother-in-law, Laurence Pender II; mother-in-law, Nell Rodgers; sister-in-law, Martha (Bob) Cooper; Special friend & personal assistant, Alyson Bennett; Nieces and nephews, Branham (Jarrod) Hanchey, Kathryn (Scott) Lambert, Anna (Brad) Beasley, Bunk (Bronwyn) Hanahan, Libba H. (Myron) Williams, Caroline H. (Kendall) Glover, Anna L. (Will) King, Adris Ludlum, Laurence (Kim) Pender III, Elizabeth P. (Neil) Glover, Patti P. (Bryan) Johnson, Adris (Kerry) Pender, a number of great nieces and great nephews.
Active pallbearers will be: Rhone Parrish, Sam Vann, Ed Price, Charles Price, Dr. Craig Coe, Davis Chapman, Lee Brennan, Jim Givan and Hayne Hollis.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Jim Farmer and the members of the original Fish Golf Group of the Dothan Country Club.
