William T. Hart passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.

 

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Evergreen Presbyterian Church in Dothan, Alabama with Dr. Joseph Johnson, Pastor and Rev. Ashley Drake Mertz, Associate Pastor, officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately after the services.  Mr. Hart’s ashes will be scattered among the many places he truly loved, including Birmingham, Alabama; Auburn University; Destin, Florida, and the beaches of South Walton County, Florida.

 

Born in Jefferson County, Alabama, Mr. Hart was the son of the late Samuel Robert Hart and the late Fannie A. Hart.  He graduated from Ensley High School and Auburn University.

 

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty-six years, Barbara Postle Hart.

 

Surviving are his three children; Lori Kay Hart of Dothan, Alabama, William Samuel Hart of Destin, Florida, and John David Hart (Haven) of Auburn, Alabama; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Thomas, Jon Thomas, John David Hart, Jr., Ellie Hart and Anna Hart. He also leaves a brother, Samuel Robert Hart, Jr. of Birmingham, sister-in-law Patricia Postle of Tuscaloosa, and brother-in-law Greg Postle (Debbie) of Punta Gorda, Florida, along with seven nieces and nephews.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Outreach Ministries of Evergreen Presbyterian Church, 1103 North Pontiac Avenue, Dothan AL 36303 (334) 792-7898.
