Mrs. Addie Pearl McMillan Bell, of Dothan, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at Wesley Place on Honeysuckle in Dothan, Alabama. She was 81.
Funeral services for Mrs. Bell will be Friday, June 16, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Ward Wilson Funeral Home, Dothan, Alabama, with the Rev. Paul Edenfield officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Friday. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery in Dothan, Alabama.
Mrs. Bell was born October 31, 1941, in Pike County, the daughter of the late J.C. McMillan and Alice Lee Norris McMillan. She attended Pike County High School in Brundidge and later completed her GED. In earlier years, she was employed by both Gaylord’s and Zayre department stores in Dothan. At the time of her retirement in 2006, Mrs. Bell was employed as a registered CNA at Westside Terrace of Dothan. Mrs. Bell was a long-time resident of Midland City, before moving to Hutto Tower at Baptist Village in Dothan in November 2011. In January 2020, she moved to Wesley Place on Honeysuckle where she resided until the time of her passing. Mrs. Bell was a member of Midland City Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edsel (Sam) Bell, a sister, Inez Speigner, and brothers, John McMillan, Leon McMillan and James McMillan.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Todd Arnold of Midland City, a son and daughter-in-law, Samuel and Jackie Bell of Webb, two grandsons, Christopher Arnold of Midland City, and Elijah Bell of Webb; numerous other relatives and friends also survive.
Flowers are being accepted or memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Bell’s memory to Wesley Place on Honeysuckle, 718 Honeysuckle Road, Dothan, Alabama 36305-1104, Gentiva Hospice, 2431 West Main Street, Suite 1102, Dothan, AL 36301, or to the charity of your choice.
The family would like to offer special thanks to the staff of Wesley Place on Honeysuckle and most especially to, Sanders One, for the wonderful, loving care they gave to our mother and us throughout her time living there, and also to Gentiva Hospice. You all will always hold a very special place in our hearts.
