Obituary:  Mrs. Adeleene Singletary


 


            Mrs. Adeleene Singletary of the Fadette Community passed away Friday, December 2, 2011 at Hartford Health Care.  She was 90.


 


            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 5, 2011 at New Hinson Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Newton, Rev. Teddy Ward and Rev. Dennis Singletary officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.  Mrs. Singletary will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time.  Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to New Hinson Baptist Church.


 


            The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m.


 


            Mrs. Singletary was born on August 13, 1921 in Dale County, AL to the late Ezzie Robert and Ella Elmore.  She was a member of New Hinson Baptist Church and had resided in the Fadette community most of her life.  She retired from Van Heusen Corporation after 30 years.


 


She was preceded in death by her husband:  Johnny Webb Singletary, one brother:  Otis Elmore, and her sisters:  Bertha Watkins and Bertie Cobb.


 


            Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law:  Phil and Vicky Singletary of Slocomb, Benny Singletary of Fadette; grandchildren:  Mark Singletary (Melanie), Chad Singletary (Terri) Brandt Singletary (Kirsty) and Tricia Janne Singletary; great grandchildren:  Marlena Singletary, Madison Singletary, Brett Singletary, Jack Singletary, Taylor Everett, Sydney Everett, Austin Floyd, Sawyer Singletary and Sage Singletary; several nieces and nephews.


 


            Mrs. Singletary’s grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers.


 


            The family would like to express their heart-felt appreciation to the entire staff at Hartford Health Care for the love and care given to Mrs. Singletary.
