OZARK… Mrs. Adelene Leslie, a resident of Ozark, died Wednesday afternoon, December 1, 2021, in the Dale Medical Center. She was 89.


            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 5, 2021, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Matthew Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.


            Mrs. Leslie was born December 15, 1931, in Quitman, Mississippi and moved to Ozark in 1963. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Quitman and attended Post Oak Baptist Church in Ozark. Mrs. Leslie was preceded in death by her husband, James Kimble Leslie; father, George Wesley Burt; mother, Priscilla Redden; siblings, Leo Burt, Ruth Stringer, Eula Robinson, Tommy Burt, Fred Burt, and Doris Dean.


            Surviving relatives include her daughter, Mandy Chambliss, Ozark; three sons, Allen Leslie (Trudy), Dallas, TX, James W. Leslie (Rebecca), and James R. Leslie (Joy), all of Ozark;  half-sister, Georgette Johnson, Norman, OK; four grandchildren, Chris Leslie, Eddie Leslie (Mary), Jessica Leslie, and Catie Chambliss; two great-grandchildren, James Logan Leslie and James Lucas Leslie.
