Agnes Rebecca Watkins, a resident of Dothan, died Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Extendicare Health and Rehab. She was 87.


Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Mt. Enon Baptist Church with Reverend Jerry Hood officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 PM until 8 PM Monday, January 22, 2018 at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the home of her son, Freddie Watkins.


Mrs. Watkins was born January 4, 1931 in Houston County to the late Jesse and Dora Cunningham Godwin. She was a homemaker and enjoyed working puzzles and crocheting. Mrs. Watkins was a member of Mt. Enon Baptist Church and the Betty Simpler Sunday School class.


Mrs. Watkins is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, Bernard Starling and E.E. “Tommy” Watkins; siblings, Myrtle Pearl Anderson, Thomas Godwin, Lillian Willis, Peggy Reynolds and Paul Godwin.


Survivors include her daughter, Becky and Bob Bradley, Eufaula; two sons, Freddie and Vicki Watkins, Terry and Angel Watkins, all of Dothan; grandchildren, Byron (Angelia) Bradley, Brandi (Frank) Mottley, Maranda Watkins, Matthew (Tina) Watkins, Trent Watkins and Hannah and Haley Watkins; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Levene (Kenneth) Johnson and Sue (Max) Corbin; several nieces and nephews.


The family wishes to thank the staff of Extendicare and especially Donna, Frances and Debra for the love and support shown to Mrs. Watkins during this time.
