 Obituary: Mrs. Alice Ruth Hinson

 

Mrs. Alice Ruth Hinson of Slocomb passed away Monday, July 29, 2013 at SAMC. She was 90. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 1, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Newton, Rev. Chester Padgett and Rev. Don Haddan officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Baptist Church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 until 7:00 p.m. 

Mrs. Ruth was born January 5, 1923 in Jackson County, FL to the late Manos and Trudie Tindell Evans. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Ruth was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who possessed a wonderful sense of humor and will be greatly missed. 

In addition to her parents, her husband, Ewell Hinson; two grandsons: Keith and Andy Hinson; one sister, Mary Farmer all preceded her in death. 

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, George and Cheryl Hinson and James and Virginia Hinson all of Fadette; two grandchildren: Michael Hinson and Holly Dotson (Grant); four great-grandchildren: Hillery Brooks (Andrew), Brittney Hinson, Baron Dotson and Annie Dotson; two sisters: Dorothy Whitaker (Wiley) and Tessa Baggett both of Graceville; one brother, Floyd Evans (Nell), Jacksonville, FL; several nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.
