Mrs. Nina Aline Davis Shelton, age 90, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2015 in Graceville, Florida.
Born March 1, 1924 in Houston County to the late Joseph Homer Davis, Sr. and Essie V. Johnson Davis, Mrs. Shelton was a member of Memphis Baptist Church. She enjoyed watching Alabama football and Atlanta Braves baseball as well as gardening and fishing and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wayne Shelton; a daughter, Nancy Shelton Jones; and an infant grandson McLendon.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandra (Quency) McLendon; her sons, Stan (Pat) Shelton and Doug (Melida) Shelton; her brother, Homer Davis, Jr.; her grandchildren, Wendy (Stephen) Jones, Mitzi (David) Hasty, Amber (Ken) Brown, Barry (Khristy) Shelton, Lacy Shelton, and Tiffany Jones; her great-grandchildren, Landon Jones, Tyler Jones, Caleb Jones, Sophie Jones, Dylan Hasty, Morgan Hasty, Madison Brown, and Chase Lowe; her sisters-in-law, Melvina Shelton, Eloise Anderson, and Sue Vann; a special niece, Beverly Byars; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 6, 2015 at Memphis Baptist Church with Reverend Jim Tate officiating. Burial will follow in Bluff Springs Cemetery in Ashford with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Barry Shelton, David Hasty, Stephen Jones, Ken Brown, Landon Jones, Tyler Jones, Dylan Hasty, and Caleb Jones.
The family will receive flowers or contributions may be made to Children’s Hospital Developmental Therapeutics Program, 1600 7th Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35233.
