Anita Copley, a beacon of joy and creativity, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2024, in Dothan, Alabama, at the age of 59. Born on August 16, 1964, in Vallejo, California.



Anita’s life was a tapestry of love and laughter, woven with the threads of music, art, and an unwavering commitment to her family. A loving wife to her devoted husband, Rodney Copley, and a nurturing mother to her children, Ben Copley (Chelsie) and Elizabeth Smith, she instilled in them the values of kindness, creativity, and humor. Anita’s bond with her sisters, Suzy Taylor, Ruth Henning, and Tammy Smith, was unbreakable, and her role as a cherished aunt was celebrated by her numerous nieces and nephews.


Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Greg Taylor.

Her beautiful singing voice was a gift that she shared generously, filling the lives of those around her with melody and song. Anita’s smile was a source of light and comfort, a reflection of her loving and generous heart. She possessed a natural talent for art, and her creative spirit shone brightly in everything she touched. Anita was a master of many crafts.



Anita’s sense of humor was unparalleled; she was indeed the life of the party, bringing laughter and joy to any gathering. Her quick wit and funny anecdotes were a source of endless entertainment, and her presence alone could uplift the spirits of friends and family alike.

As we remember Anita, we celebrate a life lived with passion and purpose. She was a remarkable woman whose legacy of love, creativity, and joy will continue to inspire those who knew her. Anita’s memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of her beloved husband, children, sisters, and the many lives she touched with her extraordinary spirit.
She will be profoundly missed, yet her laughter, her art, and her songs will echo in the memories of all who loved her.
