Mrs. Argusta McDonald-Bell was born to the late Charlie and Flossie McDonald on September 17, 1942 in Limestone County, Alabama. She passed away on February 8, 2018 at Dale Medical Center following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon Tuesday, February 13, 2018 in the Earl Bankston Memorial Chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 1 hour prior to services. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memory Gardens
She was the second child and the first girl.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Bobby Fred Bell. From this union two children were born.
Gus confessed hope in Christ and joined Oakland United Methodist Church. After returning from Nashville, where she matriculated at Tennessee State University, she joined David’s Temple M. B. Church. She attended Daleville Christian Fellowship and the Main Post Chapel at Fort Rucker. She was also a member of the Daffodil Garden Club and NARFE.
Gus attended the public schools of Limestone County. She graduated from Trinity High School at the age of sixteen with the class of 1959. Sister Girl graduated from Tennessee State University. Upon graduation she returned to Limestone County and taught school at Belle Mina Elementary and later Mooresville-Belle Mina Elementary. After five years she decided to join her husband and traveled with him until he retired. She taught in every state in which they lived including Germany. Later she worked for the Department of Defense writing technical manuals.
She leaves to cherish her memory; one daughter Janelle Bell-Miller (Paul), one son Robert Anthony Bell (Jencie), and her cherished partner in life Tommy Parsons. She left five brothers; Earnest (Yvonne), Bobby (Helen), Douglas, Johnny and Russell McDonald. Seven sisters: Geraldine, Deborah, Janice, Evelyn (Troy Thomas), Shirley, Pamela, and Carol (George Simpson). One uncle David Anderson, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
