Mrs. Barbara Diane Newton of Taylor passed away Monday, August 9, 2021 at the age of 63.



Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. Friday, August 13, 2021 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.



The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 P.M. Thursday, August 12, 2021. Flowers will be accepted.



Mrs. Newton had 5 children and 12 grandchildren. She loved to cook for her family and loved Alabama football. She worked in childcare for over 40 years and the last 12 years at First Baptist CDC. She loved her family and always took care of everyone. She was the glue that kept things together and made sure we had Sunday dinner every week.



She is preceded in death by her parents, Everette and Martha Brackin, granddaughter, Tristen Carroll, sister, Ann White, and brothers, Jamie Brackin and Harvey Brackin.



Survivors include her husband, David Newton of Taylor, daughters, Kirsty Hunt of Taylor, Kim Buckelew (Brad) of Wicksburg, Ivey McLendon of Taylor, sons, Daniel McLendon (Elizabeth) of Malvern, Lee Cobb (Jadah) of Dothan, sisters, Dorothy Whitten, Janice Mills, Nan Temple, Martha Hatfield, brothers, Robert Brackin, Charles Brackin, Dan Brackin, Arthur Brackin, Billy Brackin, grandchildren, Morgan Hunt, Hannah Carroll, Zack Hunt, Braxton McLendon, Lizzie McLendon, Amya Smalls, Ella-Kate Cobb, Keagan Smalls, Watson Cobb, Everleigh Cobb, and Brynleigh Buckelew.
