Mrs. Bennie Merle Jackson, age 82, of Ashford passed away Thursday, April 30, 2015.
Born June 5, 1932 in Houston County, Alabama to the late Ben and Nolie Fields Lominack, Mrs. Jackson attended Ashford United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, sewing, and working in her yard. She was employed by Ashford Elementary School for over 17 years and Wex-Tex for over 10 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James “Max” Jackson and her brothers, Edward Lominack and Alva Earl Lominack.
She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Bryan and Donna Mobley; her sister, Evelyn Adkison; her grandchildren, Brent (Wendy) Eubanks, Jay (Brittany) Bryan, Shane Bryan, Aubrey Mobley, and Brooks Mobley; her great-grandchildren, Cason Eubanks and Sawyer Bryan; her sitter and very special friend, Sue Wilson; Dana Reese of Gentiva Hospice; numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, May 3, 2015 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ricky Plummer officiating. Burial will follow in Ashford City Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home. At all other times, the family will receive friends at 303 6th Avenue in Ashford.
The family will be accepting flowers or contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 2740 Headland Avenue, Dothan, AL 36303.
