Mrs. Bernice Ardis Ramsey, a resident of Ozark, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2023. She was 74 years old.
A memorial service for Mrs. Ramsey will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 19, 2023, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Melvin White officiating, Holman Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Ramsey was born September 22, 1949 in Dale County, Alabama to the late Coy Ardis and Lillie Pearl Blackmon Ardis. She was a 1967 graduate of D. A. Smith High School in Ozark. Mrs. Ramsey worked with the Ozark Holiday Inn, Fruit of The Loom Shirt Factory in Brundidge, AlaTex in Enterprise, Sony in Dothan and M1 Government Contractors at Fort Rucker as a component cleaner. She was a member of Greater Old Salem Church in Ozark and attended Lilly Hill Baptist Church in Brundidge.
She loved working in the yard, playing solitaire and crossword puzzles. Mrs. Ramsey was an amazing seamstress and cook.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth McErvin. She is survived by her son, Jeffery Ramsey (Demika) of Birmingham; seven sisters, Dorothy Pearson (Roy) of Ozark, Zena Ardis of Enterprise, Brenda Jones (Harry) of Enterprise, Etta Petty of Ozark, Ellawese Ardis of Ozark, Tollie Thomas (Robert) of Ariton and Evon Alvin (Fred) of Enterprise; two brothers, Jeremiah Ardis (Linda) of Georgia and Oscar Lee Ardis of Huntsville; two grandchildren, Joshua Lightford (Korey) of Huntsville and Mya J. Ramsey of Birmingham.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 3054 McGehee Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36111.
