Mrs. Beryl Yvonne Fleming Duncan, a resident of Ozark, died Sunday, August 4, 2024, in Oakview Manor Nursing Facility. She was 87 years old.
A memorial service for Mrs. Duncan will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Christ Community Church (1303 East Park Avenue in Enterprise, Alabama). Holman Funeral Home in Ozark has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Mrs. Duncan was born March 28, 1937 in Sheffield, England to the late Arthur Fleming and Elizabeth Ferguson Fleming. She was a champion swimmer in England and attended a women’s college where she learned bookkeeping. Beryl came to the United States in 1956 on a very slow boat. She lived in Victoria, Texas and later moved to LaPorte, Indiana where she worked as a bookkeeper in a furniture factory. She loved knitting, sewing, ice skating and the Los Angles Rams. Beryl had a deep love for animals.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas Pointon and Charles Jerome Pointon; and one sister, Betty Court She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Michael Alt of Ozark; and five grandchildren, Jennifer Hamby (Bronson) of New Jersey, Kerry Boykin Jr. and Justin Boykin (Kelly) both of Texas, Nicole Sitarski of Michigan and Etianne Pointon of Nevada.
