Mrs. Betty Green Galloway of the Echo Community passed away Saturday, October 26, 2013, at Flowers Hospital. She was 77.


 


Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Marcus Wingard and Major Wiley Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.


 


The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 P.M. Tuesday, October 29, 2013. Flowers will be accepted or contributions to the Alabama National Guard Foundation 1720 Cong. W.L. Dickinson Dr., Montgomery, AL.


 


Mrs. Galloway was born on August 7, 1936 in Henry County, Al to the late Steve H. Green and Maebelle Johnston Green. She retired from the Commercial  Bank of Ozark. She served as president of the Chamber of Commerce of Ozark and was active in the Kawanis Club of Ozark. At the time of her death she was employed by the Human Resource Consulting Inc. as a Contractor for F.A.C. Specialist in Dothan. Mrs. Galloway loved her soldiers and their families.


 


She is preceded in death by her parents, Steve H. Green and Maebelle Johnston Green, her first husband, Dallas Austin, son, Charles Payne, one brother, and one sister.


 


Survivors include her husband, John A. Galloway, Jr. of Skipperville, AL; daughters, Rhonda Johnson and her husband, Larry of Midland City, AL; Debra Nall and her husband, Anthony of Donalsonville, GA; Deborah Gaston and her husband, Shane of Helena, AL; sons Col. David A. Galloway and his wife, Anne of Mobile, AL; Damon Galloway and his wife, Debbie of Georgetown, TX; grandchildren, Ron Johnson, Chad May (Kristie), Katie Nall, Connor Gaston, John David Galloway, Elizabeth Galloway, Lillie Gaston, Caroline Galloway, great-grandchildren, Kara and Austin May, Ali and Jordan Johnson, Kadyn Norton, several nieces, nephews, and other family members.


 


Pallbearers will be Ron Johnson, Chad May, Connor Gaston, John David Galloway, Huston Waters, and Allan Milan.


Honorary pallbearers will be the Employees of the H.R.C.I./F.A.C
