Betty Jackson Parker Davis passed away Sunday, May 2, 2021 at the age of 92.

Mrs. Davis was born May 3, 1928. She was the daughter of James Henry Jackson and Johnnie Mae Sanders Jackson, and was the youngest of 5 children. Having been born in Newville, Alabama, she moved with her family to Dothan at one year of age and lived there most of the rest of her life.

After graduating from Dothan High School, she married her first husband, Aubrey Earl Parker, and they had 2 daughters. After he died, she married Robert Len Davis 4 years later. She was very blessed to have had 2 husbands who loved and cared for her.

Although Betty went to school to learn bookkeeping and secretarial work after the death of her first husband, she really found her niche later in selling ladies clothes. She enjoyed working in dress shops.

In her earlier years she loved to sew clothes for herself, her daughters and granddaughters when they were young, and also made quilts for all her grandchildren.

Betty was very social and enjoyed exercise, playing bingo and doing Bible Studies in her later years. She loved to laugh with her best friend, Imogene Windsor. They spent many hours together talking and even traveling together with their husbands. She loved the Lord and loved her church, Ridgecrest Baptist Church, where she was a member for over 60 years. She taught Children’s Sunday School for many years there.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Syble Jackson Williams, Garland Jackson Tabb, Wayne Jackson and Thaleus Jackson, husbands Aubrey Earl Parker and Robert Len Davis and daughter, Lynn Parker Lancaster.

Betty is survived by her daughter Saundra Parker Jordan (Wiley), grandchildren Christie Davis (Brad), Brooke Hutsenpiller (Matt), and Drew Cochran and 6 great- grandchildren.

We would like to thank her caretakers who so lovingly cared for her in her home, the staff at The Terrace at Grove Park and Westside Terrace.

Services will be held at 2 P.M. Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Reverend Harold Tabb and Reverend Bob Sanders officiating and Tim Willis providing music.

Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 2 P.M. Tuesday, one hour prior to the service.
