Mrs. Betty Jane Carmella VanDyne Meldrum of Dothan, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center.

 

Mrs. Betty was born on March 23, 1937 to the late Kenneth and Theresa VanDyne. She was a devoted wife of 56 years, a very caring, generous, and most loving mother any child could ever have or want, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and playing BINGO.

 

Besides her parents, Mrs. Betty is preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Van Dyne, Jr.

 

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, William Francis Meldrum of Dothan, two sons, Donald (Debra) Meldrum of Dothan, and David (Janice) Bamforth of New Field, NY; four daughters, Linda Meldrum Riley of Taylor, Annette Meldrum Orlando, FL, Susan Meldrum of Dothan, and Anna (John) Meldrum Lane of Seabring, FL; six sisters; two brothers; 14 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

 

Memorial services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 103 Dover Court, Dothan, AL 36305. We would like all our family and friends to come and join us in the “Celebration” of life gathering for our beautiful wife and mother, Betty Jane Meldrum! We are asking for everyone to bring your favorite pictures, memories/stories, and balloons that we will be releasing at 3:37 P.M. in her memory!
