Mrs. Betty N. Strickland died on Sunday, September 6, 2015 in Jacksonville, Florida at the age of 83.


                         


Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday, September 11, 2015 at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Sam Persons Parks officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Ozark with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until 2 PM Friday, September 11, 2015 one hour prior to the service.



Betty was born January 26, 1932 in Ozark, Alabama to the late Robert B. and Idel Grace. She graduated from Carroll High in Ozark where she met her future husband, James Herman Strickland. They were married for over 59 years, prior to his passing in 2010. They were both active members of Cloverdale United Methodist Church in Dothan for many years.



Betty is survived by her son, Larry Strickland and wife Grace; her brother, William B. Grace and wife, Elaine; her grandson, Ryan Strickland and wife, Amber; her granddaughter, Laura Strickland and fiancé, Corwin Drakus; granddaughter, Grace McGregor and husband, Michael, and granddaughter, Heather Kinghorn; her great-grandchildren, Laila Strickland, Nicolas Blanchette, and Xander Butler.



In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Betty’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, One Perimeter Park South, Ste 100 N, Birmingham, AL 35243.
