EWELL COMMUNITY…Mrs. Betty Jane Snodgrass Thompson, a resident of the Ewell Community, near Ozark, died Sunday morning, January 14, 2024, at her home. She was 85.


            Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 18, 2024, in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Reverend Jeremy Meetze officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.


            Mrs. Thompson, daughter of the late John Avery Snodgrass and Alpha Mable Ripki Snodgrass, was a native of Desota, Missouri. She was married on February 5, 1972, to her husband, Jim, who taught her how to drive a truck. Mrs. Thompson was self-employed as a seamstress and was also a professional truck driver. She enjoyed going camping and travelling with her husband while driving over the road. Mrs. Thompson drove a truck for various companies that carried explosives and hazardous materials. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mable Chipman, Dottie Puckett, and Lola Jean Simms.


            Surviving relatives include her husband, Jimmy Lynn Thompson, Ewell; three daughters, Theresa Jones, Rodgers, Arkansas, Zina Raiche (Lorren), Labelle, Florida, and Tammy Platt (John), Lehigh Acres, Florida; a sister, Denise Seymour, Mountain Home, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Michael, Shawn, Stephanie, Brandon, Sarah, Josh and Dennis.
