Mrs. Betty Sue Durden Mayberry of Daleville passed away Monday, April 25, 2022 at her residence surrounded by family. She was 82.


Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 29, 2022 at the Daleville Assembly of God Church with Reverend Bill Mansfield officiating.  Burial will follow in the Newton City Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory directing.  The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until service time.


Mrs. Mayberry was born in Alabama on June 2, 1939 to the late JB and Ethel Wood Durden.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph E. Mayberry; three sisters, Myrler Daw (Jim), Grace Patterson and Elizabeth Shirley (Charles, Sr.); and two sisters-in-law, Ruth Vaughn and Ora Ann Kern.  She enjoyed playing piano at church, gardening and arts and crafts.


Survivors include her son, Tommy R. Mayberry (Carmell); brother-in-law, Virgil Patterson; grand-dog, Batman; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
