Mrs. Blondell Holley Williams, of Dothan, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017 in Millbrook, Alabama. She was 85.
Born June 14, 1932 in Geneva County, Alabama to the late David Oscar and Rosa Ethal Register Holley, Mrs. Williams was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was employed as an interviewer for the University of Chicago for many years. Past President of AARP, past Grandworthy Matron of the Eastern Star, Mrs. Williams was also a volunteer with the American Cancer Society and a member of Senior Circle. During her spare time, she loved gardening and was considered a master gardener.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Williams, Sr.; three sisters, and one brother.
She is survived by her son, Jim (Asya) Williams, Jr.; her daughters, Teresa (John) Vines and Charlotte (Chuck) Prince; her sister, Rosa Milton; her grandchildren, Matthew (Danielle) Vines, Kathryn Williams, Cole Williams, Erin (Allen) Baird, Adam (Kristine) Prince; great-granddaughter, Winslow Williams; numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 30, 2017 from the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Joey Pettis and Dr. Paola Bass officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM one hour prior to the service.
The family will be receiving flowers or contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
