Bobbie Jean Kirkland, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2024, at the age of 79. Born on July 25, 1945, Bobbie’s life was a testament to the power of generosity and dedication to family.

Bobbie’s journey through life was shared with her beloved husband of 61 years, Willis Lindbird Kirkland. Together, they built a family founded on love and mutual respect. Their son, Keith Kirkland, and daughter, Kaye Crawford, along with her husband Mike, were the center of Bobbie’s world. She was a cherished grandmother to Brantley Bruner and her husband Clint, grandsons, Chaz Crawford and Matt Martin and his wife Heather, and was anticipating the arrival of Baby Bruner and doting as a great-grandmother. Her best friend and sister of the heart, Mary Jane Emerson, stood by her side through thick and thin. Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Roy Jones and Mary Nell Rudd Jones and her brother, Fred Roy Jones, Jr.

Bobbie’s life was rich with experiences and joy. She found immense pleasure in the great outdoors, whether it was family camping trips, fishing, or boating. These activities brought her closer to nature and to her family, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Her love for reading was only matched by her dedication to her work as a bookkeeper, a role in which she excelled due to her meticulous nature and strong work ethic.

Traveling to the mountains provided Bobbie with a sense of peace and adventure. She treasured these moments, often reflecting on the beauty and tranquility of the high peaks and lush forests. However, it was her family that remained her pride and joy, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored with every fiber of her being.

Bobbie’s generous spirit extended beyond her family. She gave selflessly, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her long-time membership at Howard Grove Freewill Baptist Church was a reflection of her commitment to her faith. There, she formed lasting bonds and contributed to the lives of many through her acts of kindness and love.

Those who knew Bobbie would describe her as the epitome of generosity, selflessness, and love. Her warm smile and caring nature left an indelible mark on the hearts of everyone she encountered. She was a woman who lived her values every day, showing through her actions the importance of putting others before oneself.
