Mrs. Bobbie Nell Godwin, age 80, of Rehobeth, Al died Thursday, March 16, 2017 surrounded by her family & friends at her home.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Selma Baptist Church with Reverend Brent Parker officiating. Visitation will be at 12:30 P.M. with the funeral following at 2 P.M. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Godwin was a native & lifelong resident of Houston County Alabama & attended Rehobeth High School. She was a homemaker & the pillar of her family. She was a lifetime member of Selma Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time at Taylor Senior Citizens center playing games & socializing with her friends. Bobbie & her husband enjoyed planning & participating in trips for friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clate & Mandy Brackin. 2 brothers & 2 sisters-in-law, & 7 sisters & 6 brothers-in –law; Quille & James Tew, Willie Mae & Jim Henry Buckhalt, Leon & Mary T. Brackin, Tump & Mary Lizzie Brackin, Frances Hagler, Faye & Chester Boswell, Bertie & Peter Loguidice, Annette & Ford Love, Mobie & Joe Boswell. Son-in-law, Steve Davis.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years James Thomas Godwin, Rehobeth; 5 children & their spouses (Wayne & Carole Godwin, Madrid; Wanda Davis, Taylor; Kevin & Michelle Godwin, Rehobeth; Joey & Jan Godwin, Dothan; Keith & Lisa Godwin, Slocomb. 14 grandchildren; Jenny Godwin, Jesse Godwin, Steve & Krystal Davis, Greg Davis, Will & Mandy Rich, Forrester & Myranda Godwin, Bryan & Anna Hall, Ashley Martin, Chad & Leslie Aycock.) 11 Great-Grandchildren. A very special niece & her spouse, Brenda & Mike Smith. A very dear friend, Mary Johnson.
