Obituary: Mrs. Carman Hubbard


 


Mrs. Carman Hubbard of Wicksburg passed away Friday, March 27, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 81. 


Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 30, 2020 at Pilgrim Home Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Buddy Hood officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. 


Mrs. Hubbard was born July 2, 1938 in Key West, FL to the late Manuel and Rosa Vidal. Carman graduated from Key West High School in 1957.  She met Herman Hubbard while he was stationed at Naval Air Station Key West. They married February 14 1958. They lived in various places during his 20-year naval career. Upon retiring in 1972, they moved their family back home to Wicksburg.  Carmen loved baking and was known for her homemade key lime pies and lasagna. She loved watching QVC, shopping, getting her hair and nails done, reading new magazines, and spending time working in her garden.  Carmen was also a member of Pilgrim Home Baptist Church. 


In addition to her parents, a daughter, Cheryl Hubbard Smith; a daughter-in-law, Vivian Hubbard; and a brother, Johnny Vidal all preceded her in death. 


Survivors include her husband, Herman H. Hubbard; sons: Harold Hubbard and Sam A. Hubbard (Leigh Ann); grandchildren: Josh Little, Devin Little, Brandon Smith, Shaun Hubbard, Roger Hubbard, Russell Hubbard; Ashlyn Jones (Landon), and Alyssa Hubbard; great grandchildren: Jayden Little, Caleb Hubbard, Carson Hubbard, Cheryl Little, and McKenzie Little; brother, Mario Vidal; sister-in-law, Willie Jo Bond; brother-in-law, Larry Hubbard (Gwen); a special friend, Denise Moore; other extended family and friends.
