SKIPPERVILLE…Mrs. Carol Ann Childers Hurt, a resident of Skipperville, died early Wednesday morning, July 19, 2023, at her home. She was 69.


            Celebration of Life Services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 24, 2023, in the Asbury United Methodist Church with Reverend Phil Craddock officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Monday at the church.


            Mrs. Hurt was born December 28, 1953, in Breathitt County, Kentucky to the late Clinton and Laura Gabbard Childers. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt. Mrs. Hurt loved to read, spending time with her family, and traveling to the beach. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald “Jerry” Hurt; three sisters, Thelma Deaton (Stanley), Dorothy Brashers (Bill), and Betty Watkins; four brothers, Hurley Childers (Helen), Ishmael Childers (Lillian), Joel Childers, and Marvin Childers; a brother-in-law, Douglas Childers.


            Surviving relatives include her daughter, Christina Meadows (Chris); two sons, Jason Childers (Leigh), all of Enterprise and Alan Rhodes (Brianna), Abbeville; four grandchildren, Collin Childers (Justine), Michaela Odom (Anthony), Mason Childers (Hailey), and Kaitlenn Lomaneck; seven great-grandchildren, Landon Brunson, Luke and Lynlee Childers, Luxley Knight, Gracelyn and Elaina Odom, and Braelynn Childers; a sister, Margaret Childers, Skipperville; three brothers, Cecil Childers (Sondra), Skipperville, Wendell Childers (Bertha), and Ronald Childers, Beattyville, Kentucky; sisters-in-law, Carmaletta Childers, Foley, Alabama and Kate Worsham, Irvine, Kentucky; numerous very loved nieces and nephews.
