Carolyn Evonn Austin, age 77, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 5th, 2024, at Southeast Health in Dothan, AL surrounded by her loving family.
She was born June 19th, 1946, in Atmore, AL to George and Louise (Cunningham) McKinley. Carolyn was a 1965 graduate of Atmore High School. Soon after, she married Arthur Webster Austin Jr. on October 22, 1966, in Atmore, AL at the bride’s family home. She was a dedicated wife of a firefighter and mother to three children, always ensuring everyone and everything was taken care of on the home front. Carolyn truly loved family and appreciated the time they spent together. She had a knack for crafts, a green thumb for planting, and an uncanny way of speaking her mind.
She was predeceased by her sister, Jeanette McWhorter; brother, Hollis McKinley, and grandson Randall Cook, Jr. and is survived by her husband of 57 years, Arthur; children Pamela Cook, Teresa (Randell) Jones, Gregory (Lori) Austin; a sister Linda (Bill) Pinto, three grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
