Mrs. Carolyn Jean Duff Gray of Sperry Road, Geneva, Alabama passed away Thursday, December 29, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 76.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 31, 2011, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Phillip Barnes and Rev. Joe Bates officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 12:00 noon and continue until service time.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Ovarian Cancer Research or Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Gray was born July 25, 1935, in Beulaville, North Carolina to the late Lonnie Osborne and Sadie Bell Taylor Duff. She was a faithful member of Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church for many years.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Willis Jackson “Jack” Gray, as well as two sisters, Betty Miller and Sue Maund, preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Debbie Spears (Ricky), Samson; one son, Teddie Gray (Gail), Geneva; two grandchildren: Jessee and Nikkie Spears, Samson; four step grandchildren: Rechelle Sosa (Jessie), Britt Thames (Jamie), Kim Adams, David Gilmore (Jessica); nine step great-grandchildren; one brother, Osborne Duff (Kay); brother-in-law, Britt Miller (Lois), all of Beulaville, NC; several nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
