Mrs. Catherine Irene Womack, a resident of Cottonwood passed away Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. She was 75.


Memorial services for Mrs. Womack will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Cottonwood First Baptist Church with Reverend Jimmy Bolin and Reverend John Smith officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 AM prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cottonwood First Baptist Church, 12702 Cottonwood Road, Cottonwood, AL 36320.


Mrs. Womack was born June 6, 1940 in Cordele, Georgia and later moved to Jackson County, Florida where she was a 1958 graduate of Campbellton High School. She was multi-talented lady who excelled in nursing, being a caretaker and a florist. Mrs. Womack was a member of  Cottonwood First Baptist Church, the Red Hat Society, an avid collector and above all a loving wife, mother and grandmother.


Survivors include her husband, Myrias “Mack” Womack; two daughters, Angela Pickren and Katrina Morgan; two granddaughters, Diawn (Harry) Dupuy, Caitlin Johnson; five great grandchildren, Joshua Miller, Shai-Anne Rozier, Cody Lee Slayde, Catherine Dupuy, Reese Johnson; sister, Abbie (Hurdis) Rudd; two foster sisters, Jerri (Joe) Hough, Bobbie Curtis and several nieces and nephews.
