Christine Horne Parker McKenzie, 82, formerly of Dothan, Al, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Doctors Memorial Hospital in Bonifay Florida.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 4, 2012 in Clearman Chapel of Southern Heritage Funeral Home with Reverend Rick Glenn and Reverend Scottie Hatcher officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Southern Heritage Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 3, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Christine was born in Henry County, Alabama, a daughter of the late Floyd Ray and Lena Williams Horne. She attended Newville High School and enjoyed sewing and family outings and gatherings. She worked for McDonalds, Burger King and General Cigar prior to her retirement and was a member of Grandview Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two husbands, Wiley Parker, father of her children and Earl Hallford, a son, Greg Parker and three sisters, Betty McNeal, L.E. Ward and Molly Tindol.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Starla and Kenny Anderson, Dothan; a daughter-in-law, Linda Parker Mayes; a brother, Bill Horne (Cornelia), Dothan; three sisters, Vivian White (John), Carolyn Benton (Wayne) and Marolyn Pich (Fred) all of Dothan; Grandchildren, Shayla Phillips, Daniel Parker, Kaci Hatcher, Parker Anderson and Lauren Anderson; great grandchildren, Whitney Ducker, Kaleigh Hatcher, Colby Hatcher and Christian Parker; a special friend, John Terry, Samson, Al.
