Christine White Hammitt 88, formally of Dothan passed away on April 7, 2021 in Pensacola, Florida.


Mrs. Hammitt was born May 24, 1932, in Houston County. She retired as a Communication Operator at Southeast Alabama Medical Center with 30 plus years.


Mrs. Hammitt is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Charles J. Hammitt; her parents, James R. White and Effie D. White; sister, Edna Turner; brother, James R. (Buddy) White, son-in-law, Starkey McFarland.


Survivors include daughters: Janice Hall and husband, Pete of Panama City, FL.,  Jean McFarland of Lynn Haven, FL., and long time close and special family friend, Danny Andrews of Birmingham, AL., son, Jerry J. Hammitt and wife Pat of Panama City, FL., grandchildren, Jeremy J. Hammitt and wife, Georgia of Altha, FL., Brittany Drew and husband Chancey of Lynn Haven, FL., great-grandchildren, Melody and Brody Hammitt of Altha, FL., one brother, Charles White of Dothan; and numerous nieces and nehews.


Graveside services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, April 12, 2021, at Memory Hill Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in memory of Christine to the  building fund of Union Hill Baptist Church.
