Mrs. Clarice Jane Thompson Hodges, of Elba, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2016 in Enterprise. She was 91.


 


She was born July 13, 1925 in Houston County to the late James Newton and Ocie Ophia Mathis Thompson. She lived most of her life in Cottonwood before moving to Elba. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church. She loved flowers and enjoyed camping and fishing. She also enjoyed reading and was considered an amazing cook. She loved her grandchildren and watching them play ball.


 


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Thompson.


 


Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Albert Leamon Hodges, Jr.; her daughters, Valerie (Rachel) Moore and Xylorose (Robert) Crowder; her sister, Mary Thompson Paramore; her grandchildren, Eric (Patti) Crowder, Ritchie (Shanon) Crowder, Valiece (Ashton) McKelvy, Ralston (Anna Marie) Moore; her great-grandchildren, Ellie Grace Crowder, Clark Crowder, Collin Crowder, Zalie McKelvy, Easton McKelvy, and Riggs Moore.


 


Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, September 20, 2016 from the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ken Wilson and Dr. Tony Dye officiating. Burial will follow in Cottonwood City Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until 2 PM, one hour prior to the service.


 


The family will be accepting flowers.
