Claudia Hardin Pike, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, AL. She was 74.


A Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Pike will be held at 12PM Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Vaughn Forest Church, 8660 Vaughn Road, Montgomery, AL, 36117, with the Rev. Dr. Michael Beale officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:15-11:45AM prior to the service at the church. The service will be live streamed for those who cannot attend. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fred’s Kids (fredskids.org), an orphanage in Kenya that was very special to Mrs. Pike.


Mrs. Pike was born in Birmingham, AL to the late William Russell Hardin and Jeannette Donaghy Hardin. She graduated from Woodlawn High School and Auburn University. While at Auburn, she met her devoted husband, Raymond Pike. They were married for almost 50 years until his death in 2018. Mrs. Pike initially worked as a teacher, but once her children were born, Claudia’s life was centered on her faith and her family. She was active in her kids’ lives and schools until they left the house. Mrs. Pike consistently invested in furthering the kingdom of God and mentoring those in need. Throughout her life, she was involved many places including Aldersgate UMC, Christ Community Church, Wellspring Community Church, and Vaughn Forest Church.


Mrs. Pike is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Meg Wesley, and her husband.


She is survived by her daughters, Kristine Pike Sizemore (Alton) of Birmingham and Melanie Pike Nicholls (Chris) of Dothan; her grandchildren, Mary Catherine and Daniel Sizemore and Nathan, Will, and Andrew Nicholls; her brothers, Ian Hardin (Carol) and Patrick Hardin (Genie); many special nieces and nephews as well as their children; special friend, Misty Smith; special neighbors, Jack and Jane Harrington.
