Mrs. Clavis Marie Judah of Kinston passed away Thursday, August 16, 2012.  She was 83.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Jeremy Davis officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing.  The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.


 Mrs. Judah was born in Geneva County on January 9, 1929 to the late Jonnah and Mary Avant Pridgen.  She worked for many years as a seamstress at Covington Industries.  Mrs. Judah was a great cook and loved to serve others.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, Tatum Burkett; a baby daughter; and two brothers, James O. Pridgen and Sam Pridgen.


 She is survived by her husband, Oscar H. Judah; two sisters, Julia Bass of Opp and Lizzie Mae Powell of Samson; brother, Quncie Pridgen and his wife, Margie of Enterprise; and several nieces and nephews.
