Debbie Underwood, a resident of Dothan, died Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at her residence. She was 56.


Celebration of life services for Debbie will be held at 2 PM Friday November 23, 2012 at First Assembly with Pastor Murray Kelley officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill cemetery with Southern Heritage directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.


Debbie was born April 29, 1956 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to the late Raymond and Helen Ferguson Henkleman. At an early age she moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida where she graduated from Nova High School. Debbie worked as an Insurance Clerk at Southern Bone and Joint for about 15 years. She enjoyed taking motorcycle rides with her husband and was a member of First Assembly.


Survivors include her husband, Buddy Underwood, Dothan; two daughters, Nicole Cotton and her husband, Asher, Dothan, Stephanie Underwood, Dothan; son, Paul Underwood and his wife Teresa, Richmond, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Cade Cotton, Henry Cotton, Jason Underwood and Lily Underwood; four brothers and their spouses, Ron and Celeste, Henkleman, Greg and Tammy Henkleman, Gary and Christine Henkleman, all of Lakeland, Florida, Bruce and Cindy Henkleman, Huntingtown, Maryland; many nieces and nephews.
