Mrs. Deborah Jean Harrell McLendon, 63, of Dothan went to be with her Lord on Sunday, November 26, 2017. She was at home surrounded by her beloved family. She lived a wonderful life and enjoyed working with her flowers at home, camping, hunting and fishing with family and friends. She worked 25 years as a legal secretary when her long fight against ovarian cancer began. Debbie exemplified great courage, strength, and faith throughout her illness. Her battle is won and she is now with our Lord.


The family invites friends to visitation at Ward Wilson Funeral Home from 5-7 pm Tuesday, November 28, 2017. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition at Ovarian.org.


Funeral services will be held at 2pm Wednesday, November 29, 2017 in the chapel of Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Brother Rick Glenn officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. 


She is preceded in death by her father John Daniel Harrell.


She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Mike McLendon, mother Eva Harrell, daughter Stephanie Turvin (Shane), son Adam McLendon (Jeanette). Her grandchildren include Colby and Courtney Turvin, Shellie Yeoman (Dustin), Daniel McGraw and Hannah McLendon and her great-grandchildren are Miles and Lucas Yeoman.
