Debra Tice Weed, a beacon of love and thoughtfulness, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on September 17, 2024, in Dothan, Alabama. Born on November 17, 1962, in Houston County, Alabama, the daughter of the late K.L. Tice and Juanita Forrester Tice, Debra’s life was a testament to the joy and warmth she brought to her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, September 20, 2024 at Harper’s Joy Assembly of God Church with Reverend Eddie Littlefield and Reverend Thomas Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 P.M. Thursday, September 19, 2024.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her grandparents Jay and Edna Prevatt.
Debra’s journey began as a cherished daughter in Houston County, where she cultivated a life filled with love, laughter, comfort, and inspiration to all. Debra’s heart found its match in her beloved husband, James Weed, with whom she built a life rich in shared moments and enduring love.
A devoted mother, Debra’s pride and joy were her daughters, Nikki Sensabaugh (Chad), and Mandy Gomez (Albert). Debra’s role as a grandmother was one she cherished deeply, her heart expanding with each addition to the family. Grandchildren Preston Anderson (Paige), Braxton Anderson, Grady Sensabaugh, Tucker Sensabaugh, and Willow Gomez, were the light of her life, and she reveled in their achievements and milestones.
Debra’s love for Alabama Football was a pastime that brought her immense joy and excitement. She also enjoyed a good yard sale and shopping sprees. Among everything, the best place she loved the most was at her grandson’s sporting events. She was their #1 cheerleader.
Her friendships were a testament to her loving nature, with special friends Teresa and Sawyer Tanner, David and Quinn Mauldin, and Allen and Bridgette Rhoades holding a dear place in her heart. Debra’s presence was a gift to those around her, her thoughtfulness and caring spirit leaving an indelible mark on their lives.
