Obituary: Mrs. Desty Louise Grimes
Mrs. Desty Louise Grimes of Wicksburg passed away Friday, April 26, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 75.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Sunday, April 28, 2019 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb with Rev. Adam Habbard officiating. A private graveside service will be held at Memory Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until service time.
Mrs. Grimes was born August 20, 1943 in Geneva County to the late Clarence and Delia Inez Anderson Jordan.
In addition to her parents, three sisters: Christine, Nellie Ruth, and Francis; two brothers: Billy and Johnny Jordan all preceded her in death.
Survivors include her loving husband, Hayward Grimes; four children: Rufus Grimes (Janice), Paul Grimes (Feriba), Patricia Waterhouse (Joel), and James Grimes (Connie); two sisters: Sara Jenkins and Linda Gail Howell; fourteen grandchildren: Steffanie Frazier, Christina Menning, Heather Lyngholm, Joey Lyngholm, Brittney Wines, April Glover, Sabrina McGee, Christopher Grimes, Paul Grimes Jr., Michael Adkins, Jacob Waterhouse, Benjamin Crimes, Renae Maddox, Robert Maddox, and Joseph Lyngholm; six great grandchildren: Xander Grimes, Ronan Grimes, Conner Grimes, Landon Grimes, Madison Grimes, and Everritt Grimes; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends
