DALEVILLE…Mrs. Donna Grubbs Blair, a resident of Daleville, died late Saturday afternoon, July 29, 2023, in a Dothan hospital. She was 71.


            Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, August 3, 2023, at the Daleville Baptist Church with Reverend Jim Peters officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 9:00 until 10:00 A.M. Thursday at the church.


            Mrs. Blair, daughter of the late Dwight Laymon Grubbs and Mary Mellowdean Beard Grubbs, was born in Indian Town Gap, Pennsylvania. She lived in various locations while her father served in the United States Army, and she moved to Daleville in the early 1970’s. Mrs. Blair was retired from Army Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) after thirty- two years of employment. She was an active member of the Daleville Baptist Church. Mrs. Blair was preceded in death by her husband Gary Edwin Blair.


            Surviving relatives include her daughter, Donnete Klein (Fred), Daleville; her son, Bruce Blair (Amanda), Tuscaloosa, Alabama; a sister, Amy Morgan (Bill), Newnan, Georgia; two brothers, John Grubbs (Wanda), Daleville and Jim Grubbs (Patty), Tuscaloosa; four grandchildren, Dakota Hoomes (Dixie), Jon Klein, Kansas Beal (Dylan), and Logan Klein; a great-granddaughter, Presley Beal; nieces and nephews.


            Serving as active pallbearers will be Fred Klein, David Grubbs, Dakota Hoomes, Shane Insley, Ryan Langhammer, and Bruce Blair.
