Mrs. Dorethea Claire Hovey Medley, a resident of Pine Mountain, Georgia and formerly of Clayton, Alabama passed away Monday, June 10, 2024, at Warm Springs Medical Center Nursing Home in Warm Springs, Georgia. She was 86 years old.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. in the Louisville City Cemetery in Louisville, Alabama with Rev. Anthony Hovey officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing. A visitation will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Glover Funeral Home in Clayton, Alabama. Flowers will be accepted.

Dorethea was born January 12, 1938, in Louisville, Alabama to the late Howin Randolph and Izell Faircloth Hovey. She enjoyed gardening, genealogy, cross stitching, but most of all she loved her family and spending time with them. Dorethea was a member of Midway Baptist Church in Pine Mountain, Georgia.

She is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Judge Donis Medley; two sons, Carlos Medley and Carroll Medley; two brothers, John Hovey and Randolph Hovey; sister, Dianne Paylor.

Survivors include her two loving grandchildren, Kristina Medley of Pine Mountain, Georgia and Shannon Martin of West Point, Georgia; two great-grandchildren, Emma Martin and Waylon Martin; brother Rev. Anthony Hovey of LaGrange, Georgia; three sisters, Lorretta Hovey, Helen Gibson, and Angie Estrada all of Columbus, Georgia.
