Mrs. Doris Irene Holley of Samson, Alabama went home to be with the Lord Saturday, August 4, 2012.  She was 88.

 

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 6, in the First Baptist Church in Samson with Rev. Sam Totten officiating.  Burial will follow in the Travelers Rest Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continue until service time.

 

The family asked that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church, 100 W. Main Street, Samson, AL 36477.

 

Mrs. Holley was born August 26, 1923, in Coffee County to the late James and Rosa Blalock Davis.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Samson.

 

In addition to her parents her husband, James Hose Holley, and a son, James Mickey Holley preceded her in death.

 

Survivors include one son, Steve Holley (Victoria Ann), Mobile, AL; one daughter, Judy H. Hutchison (Frankie), Samson, AL; one daughter-in-law, Roni Holley Griffin, Eufaula, AL; two brothers: Don Davis, Columbia, SC, Junior Davis, Opp, AL; one sister, Vivian “Sis” Holley, Kinston, AL; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; other extended family and friends.
