Mrs. Dorothy Kelley Culbreth of Dothan went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Westside Terrace. She was 82 years old.


Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, May 17, 2016 from the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ricky Plummer officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until 2 PM, one hour prior to the service.


Dorothy was born December 9, 1933 in Holmes County, Florida. She was the daughter of George and Ruby Turner Kelley. She attended Poplar Springs School where she graduated in the top of her class. She loved to cook, sew, take care of her flowers, going fishing and was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and University of Alabama football.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Donald Ray “Cuby” Culbreth, a sister, Wanda Creel, brothers-in-law, Hilton Creel and Bill Crawford.


She is survived by a son, Donald E. Culbreth (Sandy), a daughter, Susie Robbins (Mike); grandchildren, Heather N. Deese (Tim), Candice L. Kent (Jimmy), Jeffrey S. Sheppard (Kayla), Tracy G. Robbins (Sammie Jo); Johnny Culbreth (Jessica), Kevin Culbreth (Marci), Tony Dykes (Ariel), and Adam Dykes (Maranda); great-grandchildren, Dylan and Savannah Culbreth, Makenna Culbreth, Aysia and Gage Sanders, Aaron, Tanner, Charleigh, and Bailey Dykes; Connor and Anna Deese, Mathew and Jace Kent, Jayden Sheppard, and one to come Adalynn Jo Robbins; one sister, Faye Crawford; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund, 3257 Cottonwood Road, Dothan, AL  36301 or Covenant Hospice, 1512 West Main Street, Dothan, AL 36301.


The family would like to thank the entire staff of Westside Terrace and Covenant Hospice for the gracious love and care given to “Ms. Dot” during her illness.
