Dorothy Mae Stephens Russell

 

Mrs. Dorothy Russell went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Catawba Regional Hospice in Newton, NC.

 

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 8^th, at Central Baptist Church, 1812 Honeysuckle Rd, Dothan, under the direction of Ward-Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Johnson and Rev. Stephen Russell officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the church.

 

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Catawba Regional Hospice, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658, www.catawbaregionalhospice.org or to Central Baptist Church, 1812 Honeysuckle Rd, Dothan, AL 36305.

 

Mrs. Russell was born September 28, 1932 in Tampa, FL to James Howard & Oza Mae Stephens.  For many years, she was a homemaker in Tampa, FL. After her husband retired, they moved to Dothan in 1994. She is a member of Central Baptist Church, Dothan.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Howard & Oza Mae Stephens, her brother Ronald Lee Stephens, her step-father George Emrick, her husband Gene Russell, and her daughter Victoria Russell Coffin. 

 

Survivors include her son Stephen (and Renee) Russell, daughter Valerie (and Kevin) Johnson, son-in-law Brian Coffin, brother-in-law Philip (and Sarah) Russell, grandchildren Daniel (and Ashley) Coffin, Amanda (and Eric) Ruple, Ashley (and Tim) Joiner, Philip Johnson, Erika (and Blake) Meyer, Russell Johnson, Kara (and Ben) McKlemurry, Stephanie Russell, Caleb Johnson, and seven great-grandchildren.
