Dorothy Virginia Turner Barber, a resident of Columbia, died Monday, June 12, 2017 at her residence. She was 85.

Mrs. Barber’s wishes were for cremation and no services are planned at this time.

Mrs. Barber was born August 24, 1931 in Leesburg, Florida to the late Gilbert Eugene and Virginia Wilson Turner. She was raised in the Tampa area and later moved to Ocala where she raised her family. Mrs. Barber was a member of the Episcopal Church and volunteered there and several others places in the area. She will be remembered as a loving wife and great mother.

Mrs. Barber is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Roscoe Barber, Jr. and a daughter, Nancy Barber Lloyd.

Survivors include two sons, William and Julie Barber, James Lloyd and Susan Barber; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
